DecisionMaps™ Reveal Your True Business Model.
Enable the whole team to see and understand the Decision Model

DecisionMaps™ let you, and your team, see how the decision model's components interact.

For example, a DecisionMap™ showing the market quality, intensity of competition, and operational performance of a company location enables each team member to quickly understand the company's strategic position in that location and apply their own knowledge and experiences to help solve the problem at hand.

Market Quality

All other things being equal, it is better to be in a great market than a poor one.  In the map to the left above the shapes represent geographic market segments.  Green segments are the best and the worst are red.    Anyone who can interpret the colors of a stoplight can see a mix of good, bad, and questionable markets.

Competitive Intensity

All other things being equal, it is more profitable to have weak competitors than strong ones.  On the middle map, the capital letters are at the center of rings around competitors' locations.  Red rings indicate the strongest competitors and green the weakest.  Clearly, the location faces a mix of strong to weak competitiors.

Strategic Situation of "Our" Location

The map to the right above reveals the following about "Our" location:
1. Reasonably well located within the general market area.
2. Surrounding market segments vary widely in quality.
3. Competitor D is biggest threat to this specific location.
4. Competitor A is also a serious threat.
5. Competitors C and B are distant threats.
6. Markets of competitors F, H, and I represent opportunities.
7. Competitors E and G are neither opportunities nor threats.
8. The location is likely to be attacked.
9. Future profitability will depend on a successful defense.
